In compliance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the referenced notifications, the Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya, hereby implements the Fee Refund Policy for the academic year 2024-25. This circular is issued in accordance with the provisions of the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023, to ensure transparency, accountability, and the protection of students' rights.
1. Last Date of Admission
The last date for admission to any undergraduate (UG) or postgraduate (PG) program offered by the University is 30th September 2024. Admissions completed after this date will not qualify for fee refund claims, except as provided for under specific regulatory exemptions.
2. Scope and Applicability
This Fee Refund Policy is applicable to all UG and PG programs run by the Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya, and is designed to align with the directives of the UGC.
3. Procedure for Withdrawal of Admission
Students intending to withdraw from their program must submit a written application to the University. The application should clearly state the reasons for withdrawal and be accompanied by supporting documents, if applicable. Submission of withdrawal requests through official communication channels is mandatory to initiate the refund process.
4. Fee Refund Framework
The following fee refund provisions have been adopted to safeguard the interests of students while ensuring administrative efficiency:
4.1. Refunds for Withdrawal up to 30th September 2024
4.2. Refunds for Withdrawal between 1st October and 30th October 2024
4.3. Refunds for Withdrawal after 31st October 2024
5. Redressal of Grievances
Students who face delays, denial of refunds, or are dissatisfied with the process may approach the Grievance Redressal Cell of the University.
6. Implementation and Compliance
The University is committed to implementing this policy in its entirety to uphold the regulatory standards set by the UGC. All concerned officers, departments, and administrative units are instructed to ensure compliance with this circular and to facilitate the smooth processing of refund requests.
